Proton VPN Port Forwarding 2026

Proton VPN port forwarding works on paid plans, on P2P servers, on desktop. You get a random port each time you connect and enter it in qBittorrent as the listening port.

Windows

Settings → Features → Port forwarding, connect to a P2P server, copy the port into qBittorrent → Options → Connection, and untick UPnP / NAT-PMP.

Mac and Linux

Use natpmpc against gateway 10.2.0.1 and repeat every 45 seconds to keep the port open.

Proton vs NordVPN vs Surfshark

Only Proton VPN offers port forwarding; NordVPN and Surfshark do not.
